Well, now that I've got some updates underway on the site, it's time to direct my attention to the upcoming PDX Zine Symposium, which will be next weekend, August 6 and 7, at Refuge, located at 116 SE Yamhil. I've only got a week to crank out the final 2 pages of my first mini-storybook, and with my lackluster abilities and pain-staking slowness as an artist, I hardly have a hope of finishing it in time. It's going to be a grueling push, but it could happen. Maybe...?

Either way, I'll be going to see what's hot in the Zine scene today, so I hope to see you there.

Thanks to everyone who's already made it to the site and found the time to give feedback. A few minor tweaks have already been undertaken, and we've now got a slew of new stuff planned for later in the year. Exciting times are upon us, so I hope you all stick around!

In other news, for any of you fellow creators out there in the Portland area, the deadline for IPRC's certificate program is rapidly approaching. Make sure to get yours in by the end of the week if you want to be considered for the upcoming term. In case you don't know what the IPRC is, check out their website to learn more. They do some fantastic things around these parts. www.iprc.org

Here we go world! The Artificial Sunrise website is officially underway. Obviously there's much work to be done, but the initial hurdle has been cleared and all systems are go. Expect lots of change in the near future as the project begins to live and breathe on its own, accompanied by a fair smattering of ranting, bitching, and shameless promotion courteous of yours truly via this commentary blog.

Prepare to have your hair blown back.
